Southworth Associates hosts along with other esteemed treatment professionals, several conferences throughout the year as a means to bring together various portions of our industry so we can all network together. By making those necessary connections and further educating ourselves we can all best serve our client population. Below is information on our most prominent and re-occurring conferences.
Southworth Associates and Intervention 911 have joined forces to offer training for those professionals looking to become interventionists. With over 65 years of combined experience in the field of addiction and recovery, these two leaders are ready to share their extensive knowledge with attendees, and best prepare them for a successful career as Interventionists. Both John Southworth and Ken Seeley are Board Registered Interventionists, Level II, and have been frequently featured on the hit A&E television show, Intervention. They believe all Interventionists must obtain the best possible training and education available in order to achieve and maintain the level of excellence and professionalism the industry has come to demand and expect. Using the Johnson Model of Intervention, they have teamed together with Eric McLaughlin to provide training for those looking to become professional interventionists.

This conference is co-hosted by the Foundation Recovery Network.
The International Treatment Center Cooperative Conference (ITCC) is also commonly referred to as Vero Beach, which is a reference to the conference location. This semi-annual conference is held at one of The González Recovery Residences (The GRR) in Vero Beach, www.thegrr.com. ITCC is a deliberately small and intimate conference where treatment centers can network with each other in a fun and relaxing environment. Unlike many traditional conferences, ITCC requires that a treatment center clinician attends, not just a marketer. Participants come away from the conference as collaborators, having a much better understanding of what everyone has to offer in order to make better client referrals within the treatment center industry.
Schedule: The upcoming conference is scheduled to take place from May 16th to May 18th, 2012.
ITCC Clarifications: The costs to attend this conference are $500 for an interventionist and $1000 for a treatment center. Treatment centers are allowed to bring two attendees from their facility. If a treatment center elects to send only one representative, the cost to attend is still $1000. Treatment centers get ten minutes to address the audience and interventionists get five minutes. The presentation order is random and all attendees are required to remain for the duration of the event.
Toranfield House and Southworth Associates are hosting Ireland's first International Conference and Exhibition on behavioural health including addiction disorders.
